Navigation (one day)

This will cover how to use an Ordinance Survey 1:25 000 and 1:50 000 map to navigate in the mountains. Skills covered will include:
> Orientation
> Navigation strategies
> Compass use
> Contour interpretation
> Pacing and timing
> OS app

James has worked on many Mountain Leader Training and Assessment courses as well as personal hill and mountain skills courses and knows the area very well.

Prior experience
None necessary but it would also be a refresher for people who have not been out for some time and want their navigation double checked, or want tips on how to teach it. 

Kit list
You will need your own walking boots, waterproofs, water, lunch and if you have a map of the area and compass you can bring it along.

Cost
This is a one day course and costs £90 per person
